Variations & swaps

Egg Bite Recipe Variations

  • Meat – Add more protein and flavor to your egg bites with finely chopped proteins like breakfast sausage, bacon, ham, or chorizo.
  • Veggies – There are endless options when it comes to adding veggies into your egg bites. I suggest avoiding things with high water content so the egg bites aren’t too moist. Greens like kale and arugula, mushrooms, onions, broccoli, carrots, and asparagus are all great options!
  • Cheeses – The cottage cheese gives them a slightly cheesy flavor, but you can add more in the blending process. Smoked Gouda, creamy gruyere, and salty parmesan would all make perfect additions. Other options to try are Monterey jack cheese or feta cheese.
  • Herbs and Spices – Make them herby with freshly chopped basil, parsley, oregano, or dill. I love adding Everything Bagel (opens in a new tab) seasoning to these as well. Make them spicy with a dash of cayenne pepper or a taco seasoning (opens in a new tab).
